Our MSc students among the laureates of the 54th Competition for the Best Master Thesis at the Faculty of Pharmacy!

 

On March 7, 2018, at the 54th Competition for the Best Master Thesis at the Faculty of Pharmacy with the Laboratory Medicine Division, MSc Adam Kasiński was awarded the 1st prize for his MSc thesis entitled "Research on hydrogel 5-fluorouracil carriers". The promoter and direct supervisor of the presented work was dr hab. Marcin Sobczak. 

MSc Agata Grabowska received the third prize for the thesis entitled: "The content of manganese, copper, lead and cadmium in children with Phelan McDermid syndrome determined by atomic absorption spectrometry". The promoter of the presented work was dr hab. Marcin Sobczak, and the direct supervisor was dr Marzena Kuras.

Granting another patent for the Medical University of Warsaw !!!

The Patent Office of the Republic of Poland informed about granting a patent for the Medical University of Warsaw. The inventors are employees of the Department of Biomaterials Chemistry from the Chair and Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry of the Faculty of Pharmacy with the Division of Laboratory Medicine.

PATENT No. 226742 for the invention entitled "Macromolecular prodrugs of 5-fluorouracil and the method for the preparation of macromolecular 5-fluorouracil prodrugs". Inventors: Marcin Sobczak, Wacław L. Kołodziejski, Piotr Goś, Magdalena Hajdaniak. Institution entitled to the patent: Warsaw Medical University. The date of granting the patent: 29.09.2017, the date of the patent application: 28.02.2011.

Granting of two patents for the Medical University of Warsaw!

The Patent Office of the Republic of Poland informed about the granting of two patents for the Medical University of Warsaw. The inventors are employees of the Department of Biomaterials Chemistry from the Chair and Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry of the Faculty of Pharmacy with the Division of Laboratory Medicine. 

PATENT No. 226520 for the invention titled "Method of obtaining new polyurethane quinolone prodrugs". Inventors: Marcin Sobczak, Wacław L. Kołodziejski, Piotr Goś. Institution entitled to the patent: Medical University of Warsaw.  The date of granting the patent: 31.08.2017, the date of patent application 01.09.2010.

PATENT No. 224866 for the invention titled "A biodegradable polyurethane implant containing paclitaxel and a method for the preparation of a biodegradable polyurethane implant containing paclitaxel". Inventors: Marcin Sobczak, Tomasz Ciach, Marta Andrzejczyk, Ewa Olędzka, Joanna Kolmas, Wacław L. Kołodziejski. Institution entitled to the patent: Medical University of Warsaw. The date of granting the patent: 28.02.2017, the date of patent application 17.03.2014.

The Minister of Health award for dr hab. Ewa Olędzka from Department of Biomaterials Chemistry!

Our Colleague, dr hab. Ewa Olędzka from Department of Biomaterials Chemistry received the individual scientific award of the first rank from Minister of Health for achievements being the basis of DSc degree - studies entitled: "Synthesis, structural, physicochemical and biological research and application possibilities of linear and branched polyesters containing natural substances and their synthetic analogs in the macromolecule".

PhD student from Department of Biomaterials Chemistry, M.Sc. Eng. Urszula Piotrowska participated on 4-8 September 2017 in the 28th European Biomaterial Conference held in Athens. Mrs. Piotrowska presented the results of her research in the form of an oral presentation and during the poster session.

Dr hab. Marcin Sobczak in the Scientific Council of the Institute of Engineering of Polymer Materials and Dyes in Torun! 

On August 17, 2017, the Minister of Development and Finance appointed dr hab. Marcin Sobczak as a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Engineering of Polymer Materials and Dyes in Toruń. 

On September 14, 2017, dr hab. Marcin Sobczak was elected deputy chairman of the Scientific Council for the term 2017-2021.

On 19-22 September 2017, employees of the Department of Biomaterials Chemistry participated in the XXIII Scientific Congress of the Polish Pharmaceutical Society, which took place in Krakow.

MSc Urszula Luchowska among the laureates of the 53rd Competition for the Best master thesis at the Faculty of Pharmacy!

On March 15, 2017, at the 53rd Competition for the Best Master Thesis at the Faculty of Pharmacy with the Laboratory Medicine Division, Urszula Luchowska received 2nd prize for the master thesis entitled: "Polyester conjugates of fluoroquinolones and bisphosphonates - synthesis and structural analysis". The supervisor of the work was dr hab. Marcin Sobczak.
